Here is a short, hopefully constructive comment. If Lionel wont make scale wheel sets but will make everything else scale then why dont we tally up the potential takers for the U-33 and see if that conversion figure comes to a total that Dave at OSO/NWSL thinks interesting for their line of conversion wheel (and gear) sets? After all, this isnt a driver wheel with spokes and tires and the like. If Lionel chooses not to vary production (easy to see why from 3,000 miles away) it would be comparatively easy for OSO to set up a screw machine and (assuming spur gears on axle) gear cutter to do so.
