Thomas and all,
If you want Lionel to produce Scale flanges and regular DC motors, All Scale
modelers need to let them know. One or two people aill not cut the mustard.
They need to know what is wanted and if they can make that infamus  profit by
doing it. True that most of what they have come out with so far in AF is more
for the high rail side, they don't know what the scsale AF  side is. They need
a positive number to know how that market will go. Like I said, they want to
make money not loose it. How many scale modelers are there out there that share
my thoughts.Yes, there needs to be morethan Brass for the scale side, but you
need to voice what you want to get it in mass production, 100 to200 each
production run does not garentee a models future. I'm only one of that 200 what
do the other 199 get out of it. My opiniononly, and why I only lerk here on
this list for your positive modeling skills that I like to take advantage of.
They have helped me in my high rail
club and my home layout that is still under construction.
                                             Thanks,
                                                         Alan

Perhaps we are too negative. That's never a good appraoch for any business,
professioin, or organization. On the up side, I am glad Lionel cranked out the
U33C. It is a model too late for my time period, but others might like it. If I
were modeling a period that included owning the U33C, I guess I would live with
the moveable pilot. I would very much be happy to live with the Lionel USRA
light Mike but now undestand that it's more than large flange drivers and
wheels that make the steamer impossible to market in scale. I still say it
would have been a good idea and possibly still worth Lionel's looking into. I
wonder how many they would have to sell to alter the steamer for the scale
market? Would there be 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 purchasers of such an item?

Tom
