Hi Jim:
got me wondering about the sand. what if you painted say a sandy brown over
styrofoam or plywood and then sprinked some of this art sand (sounds
interesting) and then some ground foam in hopes of creating kind of scrub land.
ALso I know tea bags, used to make that wonderful beverage then opened and
left to dry out make good material for scattering in wooded areas. Never tried
it but could be ground up and used around lumber cutting areas etc, methinks
 cheers

Hi John.

The big craft stores should have what is called art sand. Most of it is too
bright and pastel for scenery use without painting but it will give you that
fine texture you're looking for.

Beautiful work Koz! Wanta come to IL and install one?
Me? I've been working on the Castle Rock canyon area...trackage to be about
60ft. aboe the river/road. Gonna be a good looker when it's done.
Hey...I'm looking for sandy soil. The kind you find in the west, dry, sandy
soil. Woodland Scenics "earth" really doesn't do it. I'm kinda thinking maybe
Hobby Lobby or Michaels might have something.
Arizona Rock used to have great stuff but I think they're out of business.

Here's the gate installed with track placed for a check fit. I'd like to get
it down and wired this weekend.
