I'm almost finished with my 1:64 RC model of the towboat `Logsdon' (a heavily
modified Lindberg `Southern Belle'), and was looking for some neat barges/barge
loads for it to push around.

I found the following picture of a D&RGW K-28 being transported by barge from
Seattle, WA to Alaska, where it was to serve on the White Pass & Yukon.

Since there is no other rail equipment visible in the photo, I suspect that
rails were affixed to a conventional barge.

Anyway, since I intend to make this an operating barge, the risk of this engine
getting wet and subsequently ruined make it unwise to use an expensive
functioning brass locomotive for this model.

I was wondering if any of you knew how to create a non-functioning K-28 that
would be better suited to this purpose (as a load). Would it be possible to
convert standard gauge HO engine into an S-scale K-28?
