I'm not that familiar with the HO stuff.  I'd make a copy of a K-28 plan and
carry it with me to check out at the LHS or a swap meet.  Bachmann made an
outside frame 2-8-0 in On30 that was fairly small for O scale.  Maybe that's
another possible starting point.

Of course, you know the K-28's only went on one barge ride, so it is an
atypical event, but one did look neat in the picture.

I was just hoping to copy the K-28 since these were shipped (on barges) from
the D&RGW to the White Pass after being repainted with that nice big `USA'
on their tender.

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I was hoping to find an HO engine with
a similar boiler shape, correctly sized domes and as many other features as
possible to make it similar to an SN3 K-28.

Since it won't be operating, I figure that I could combine the HO wheels and
pistons with a custom built outer frame since I wouldn't have to worry about
this actually functioning.
