It seems like he uses NYRS controllers, right? If so, this is their price list:

Maybe some of the extra parts are added to the package, and then add some labor to it.

My question wasn't about the $475 base price. That I understand and have
no issue with.

My question was why did the stepper motor add $700 to the price.
Changing the motor and more than doubling the price was what had me
curious, not the base price.
