That might be the primary market for a resin kit, those who didn't get one of
Don Heimburger's brass imports. I did, right on this list a year or so ago
(seller said he could have sold 5 or 6 of them from the listing); the pricewas
very fair, although there was some restoration needed.I might consider adding
another gas-electric, even an EMC/St Louis, but it would have to be different,
perhapsthe shorter version preserved at Mid-Continent (ex-Minnesota Western),
as modeled in O scale by American Standard Car.

Re: {S-Scale List} Re: Doodlebug Project

Tom,

Many of us, myself included, were not modeling in S in the 80’s. I never even
knew of the project, have never even seen the one that Don offered, and I would
assume that the current technology would allow a better-functioning, better
looking unit.

At least that is my thinking for why duplicate something that has already been
offered :)

Cheers.

If the project intends to produce a unit like the B&M doodleug pictured, then
count me out. That's the unit that Don Heimburger offered back in the
Eighties. Why duplicate something that's already been offered? Why not offer
a variant? After all, EMC offered many types of doodlebugs in the St. Louis
carbody.
