I know Walt was really hopeful that the Steam engine would be running on the
weekend of the convention but he could not pull it off. I guess getting engine
316 was one good trick, having the ore train cross over our excursion train was
another. On the whole, he did a fine job.
I don't recall exactly how I drilled out for the ladders, it was a time ago. A
trick I have used is put a spot of paint on the ends of the sprue and then set
it on the car or a template. a bit easier that trying to drill by eyeball.
