I suspect the savings in time alone is very important as a set of drawings takes 90 to 120 days. But, if they use a complete set of autocad drawings and just rescales and adjust for small changes needed in thickness for stock items (screws, etc.) you are talking being ready to tool in a few weeks instead of months....
