boB, When you decide what color (I'd probably go for black) I think I
would opt for a dull paint. Lights glancing off glossy paint will
certainly give it away. Another possibility is to actually wrap the
pipe with some fabric of your chosen color--cheap felt will work just
fine with some spray mount.
