I have a couple of O scale cars from one of our former/departed members
that have cut levers that operate the coupler--Monarch might have been
the brand??
I do have the problem with the PRS air hoses. The hose and bracket get
knocked off fairly easily. I will find them between the rails just like
on the prototype! Then I have to search for the car or cars that are
missing one. That's why we have a RIP track aka workbench!

I have some Fn3 (20.3:1) cars where the cut levers actually open the
coupler knuckle.
