The AM bay window caboose is an Erie prototype. Some of them did carry the
extra-fancy EL scheme while in service:

Conrail
retained a bunch of these, while others went to the

number later migrated elsewhere.
The AM wood caboose was apparently
based on a Roundhouse/MDC HO model (see attachment).     
I believe
the Erie model was researched and sponsored by the Central Jersey S
Scalers. This was the genesis of what became S Helper Service.
