Bob, I know what you mean: When I assembled an ALL-NATION O-gauge box car kit, the directions recommended Weyerhauser Green. It wasn't even available back then. The car was an M&StL green box car. Later, having moved into S, I adapted two AM box cars and luckily had a bottle of Weyerhauser Green for way back when, and it hadn't hardened or caked up.
I picked up a Great Northern express refrigerator already assembled but from way back when. Of course, that is not your REA refrigerator car, but it appears to be Pullman green. That is what I would shoot for if I were you, and you'll probably be right. The old Kinsman kits had silk screened car sides but required you to paint the ends a matching color. Kinsman provided a list of colors that at the time were standard Floquil colors, but over the years Floquil has discontinued many of their paint colors. The kit references a color called "boxcar green". Anyone have any idea as to what would be a good color match? Thanks, Bob Frascella Wenham, MA ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
