Hi Bob and all --

Don’t overlook the plastic model paints which work just fine on wood.
Both Tamiya and Testors probably have something very close in their military
paints, and if not exact, you can probably find a base color to which you
can add another color to take it the direction you need. I would suggest
Testors medium green and dark green as a place to begin. Also, the REA
color is pretty close to “hunter green” which you can probably find in a
craft store, though it might be a spray only.

Good luck!

I've been busy assembling an old Kinsman Express Reefer kit lettered for
Railway Express and was wondering what would be a good color match for the
green car sides. The old Kinsman kits had silk screened car sides but
required you to paint the ends a matching color. Kinsman provided a list of
colors that at the time were standard Floquil colors, but over the years
Floquil has discontinued many of their paint colors. The kit references a
color called "boxcar green". Anyone have any idea as to what would be a good
color match?

Thanks,
