Hi Gale....

I understand your grief, but would like to point out that almost everything you
want is readily availale -- more or less -- from the S Sig at www.sscale.org

Regarding "who", the S Sig requires the use of real names and our erstwhile
Forum Moderator, Koz, checks you out as much as he can before allowing you in.
The S Sig believes secrecy is not needed for conversations about our mutual
hobby. So real names are available just by looking.

Checking out the S Sig Forum will reveal that every member has the opportunity
to list his interest areas. For me, the list reads: NYC, WSLCo., NCE.
Everyone can list whatever they please. The list of interest areas is
available to all S Sig members.

Not sure who "they" are, but they can find all that type of information on the
S Sig Forum if they go looking for it.

If you are a member of the S Sig Forum (free!), you have the ability to send a
private email to any individual you want. This information is not available to
the public out of respect for privacy. However, joing the S Sig Forum takes
less than 5 minutes. Faster if you do not make a typo.

That is true. I remember those goode olde daze too. That is how I met Arden
Goehring who now does my taxes each year. A hidden benefit of sharing
locations. My tax payment to Arden each year helps to support his UP habit.

If those MP modelers joined the S Sig and listed their personal interests, you
would all know each other in short order.

> where are the 200 Boston & Maine units

Same answer as for the MP guys.

> where are the 200 Maine Central

Need I repeat myself? Same place as the MP guys.

You already have that place. It is called the S Sig at
www.sscale.org

> if we listed a email address we could contact each other.

The S Sig Forum already lets you do that. Sending private email messages to
any other S Sig member is possible and easy.

> we could sort out some of this stuff like we used to be able to do....

Have you asked the S Sig's web master to create a searchable data base of the
interest areas? Might be a good idea that the S Sig BoD could explore. Unless
you ask, however, it won't happen. Are you a member? Anyone can join. The S
Sig is free and open to anyone. Membership in the NMRA, NASG, etc. is not
required.

Also, a contribution using the green button on the S Sig web site will help
speed things along. We are totally financed by voluntary contributions from S
guys all over the place. The more money we have, the more things get done.
Faster too!

The S Sig Forum also has a New Member area where all new members can expound at
great length on their personal interests. No limits on length or content. Let
'er rip regarding who you are and what you want. Tell us about your kids, wife
and dog. We want to know you. All these explanations are there in plain sight
for folks to review at any time.

Without sounding biased (who me?), I would propose that the S Sig already has
the answers to your fervent desires. All that is necessary is for every S
scale guy on the planet to join up and indicate his personal interest areas.

Once that is accomplished, those MP guys will jump out at you quickly.

Hope this helps.
