When I got my notice to renew my NASG membership recently it listed my previously stated interestes, type of railroading and favourite real roads. What was that info collected for if not to create a data base we NASG members could search to see for instance who else lists TTX as one of his interests (probably nobody)?
If the those who chose to join the NMRA's S scale special interest group want to create a similar function, that's fine, but I suspect it will never have anywhere near the number of members the NASG has - even if you count only the modellers, not the collectors.
