Hmmm... and here I was thinking that I was the one that had messed up the works by bringing a new coupler into this bubbling, churning soup of mass confusion we all call S scale...
Nope... I feel much better about myself now. :) John Degnan [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: "ctxmf74" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, August 24, 2012 12:02:32 PM Subject: {S-Scale List} Re: It is all my fault --- In [email protected], JAMES SLEETH <aztecfan@...> wrote: > The only answer I got was to buy the new Lionel's, take out the AC sound > units and sell them on E-bay and then buy DC sound units and install them. > So can you guys make S scale grow by telling some one new who wants to get > into S scale that he needs to do that to run new Lionel engines? NO! > Someone new looking to get into S scale could just buy the Lionel loco and the Lionel controller and be all set. They would not be worried about compatibility with their old stuff cause they wouldn't have any. Guys with DCC layouts would convert new locos to DCC since that's what they like. DC guys would just pull the control stuff out and run the loco on DC. The only problem is when you start mixing stuff like scale and high rail or DC and AC so most modelers avoid that...DaveBranum ------------------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Links
