I want to thank everyone for their well thought out and informative answers to my quire.
I have been an on again off again model railroader since my early teens. It has only been in the last few years I have really gotten serious about. Between good fortune and good friends I have all but about 15 yrs of Model Railroader Magazine. It is hard to avoid the scratch building bug after reading the decade of the 50's, so many great how to's. I have always been more of a scenic-er and model building builder rather than get into the building of trains themselves. My interests are slowly evolving in that direction however so I am starting to pay more attention to threads regarding accurate car modeling. I have been doing On30 but find building size is a bit much for my layout area so have been slowing modeling and converting to Sn42. I've been getting a hankering for some mainline action to complement my narrow gauge activities so trying to learn more about the S scale manufacturers. I had actually joined this group last spring I think it was, but accidentally left the group when I was clearing out some of the groups I was a member of that weren't very active any longer. Nice to back finally :) I was curious if there were any nearby S-Scalers? Only ones I know of so far is L.A. area or in Arizona, was hoping someone from around Las Vegas was also on here. Thanks, Scott Huston ________________________________
