Speaking of old kits for S scale, has anyone assembled a Perma-Bilt gondola or two-bay hopper. I have a photocopy of one of the company's catalogs in which cars of this type are listed. I think the catalog has a photo of the gon but not of the two-bay hopper. Has anyone constructed either of these two?

They advertised the car as a 44' gondola. My inventory says I have the kit, so I should have the plans and instructions. I'll look for the plans ion a couple of days, and advise. Not entirely sure of its origin but I always liked it because it was deeper than most others. Truth be told I probably have more invested in the aluminum bales that fill the car! I have long since lost the plans, wish I had them, this car would be a not terribly difficult scratch project substituting styrene for the wood. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/S-Scale/photos/recent/1428856467/view Bob Werre, you asked me a while ago about the DCC installation in my UP Turbine. What exactly did you want to know? I've lost the message but will respond to the group if anyone is interested... Feels like we need to lower the steam pressure anyway and spend some time on the workbench... Mine is a mess!! Jim Kindraka Plymouth, WI
