Jim,
Before I looked at the photo, I might have thought that your gondola
might have been a Branchline Models craftsman kit, as it was also deeper
than normal--but it not. The Branchline gondola was an outside braced
and open frame (War Emergency style) design with wooden sides and metal
ends.
Regarding the turbine. I was wondering about the sound system and where
you put it. My thoughts are that if you put the speaker in the B unit
you will get the turbine roar but the sound of the horn and bell should
be coming from the A unit. What reasoning did you use? Maybe you used
two units?
At the present time I have a older Soundtraxx LC unit (very similar to
the SHS board) so I can blow the horn/bell in the A unit while the B is
silent. I have the prime mover turned way down with the idea of
duplicating the Cummins diesel used in hostling moves. I've never heard
anyone indicate whether that diesel was shut down during regular running
or did they keep it running? Maybe Lee Johnson can remember what
procedures might have been.

I posted a photo (link below) of an old Kinsman or Regal(?) gondola
kit I built (many!) years ago. Not entirely sure of its origin but I
always liked it because it was deeper than most others. Truth be told
I probably have more invested in the aluminum bales that fill the car!
I have long since lost the plans, wish I had them, this car would be a
not terribly difficult scratch project substituting styrene for the wood.

Bob Werre, you asked me a while ago about the DCC installation in my
UP Turbine. What exactly did you want to know? I've lost the
message but will respond to the group if anyone is interested...
Feels like we need to lower the steam pressure anyway and spend some
time on the workbench... Mine is a mess!!
