One possible approach is to mix the dull and the gloss clear coats together and 
use an airbrush to apply it to the model.  A semi-gloss results if a 50-50 
mixture is used.  My personal preference is about 2/3 flat to 1/3 gloss, but 
each to his own.  It ain't a spray can, but it is a method to control the 
finish on any model.  Maybe borrowing a air brush from a friend might be
