If you are casting your own, one trick that I have successfully used in the
past is to add weight to the resin part itself. Mid size shotgun shot works
well (not birdshot as there is not enough space between the shot for the
resin). I've also cast a steel bar into a part.
I've been thinking about making some flat cars and my plan was to add a flat
bar into the casting for added weight and stiffness.
