All,

Lionel is more like Jim King with SMMW. He makes an announcement of a new
product. He goes by pre-order info that he receives. Then he producesnew
product. If Jim does not get enough pre-orders to indicate profit from said
product, he drops production of said productfor lack of pre-orders needed. That
is the same way Lionel looks at the American Flyer line. They do put it out in
a cataloge. We see something that catches our eye. We need to send in a
pre-order so they know it is worth the trouble to get the tooling made. If they
don't see that they drop the idea. That is the case with scale wheels. At the
show Lionel did not have any S stuff on display. MTH guys were very friendly
when I taled to them, and will look at the NASG booth so graciously manned by
our local(Lone Star Flyer club, and Trinity S scale club) members. They were
always talking to people.
