I have no true inside information about how either company is run. But, it's

They're methods seems pretty clear, state your intent, place a deposit and
you're on the list. Jim has stated quite clearly he wants a 50% deposit for
the GP38 kit. I don't think he could be much clearer.
They all have a portfolio to draw on to get an idea of their products are like.

I'm planning on posting a review on OGR of my SD70 after it arrives, mainly
because I can have pictures flow with the review, rather than out of context
images attached. I'll post a link when that happens.
