Hi, Ed and all; If you look over on the OGR (O Gauge Railroading) forum for S gauge trains, there is a regular poster named Jon who is identified as CTO for Lionel. Seems like a good guy to contact. You would have to register to be able to post to him (or, I assume, send him any kind of direct message.
While there, you might like to look over some of the threads on the new Y3 from Flyer. It looks avery bit the scale model, except for the wheels and couplers. Jon notes at one point that a 3rd party is planning a scale conversion... Some other members here post there regularly. I have not signed up, but do try to read it on a regular basis. Pieter E.
