A real semaphore is about 32 feet tall and the blade is about 4 feet in length. 
 An accurate S scale semaphore would be about 6 inches tall and the blade would 
be about 3/4 inch long.  Then there is the diameter of the post to consider.  

O scale semaphores would be about 25% larger.  

Just because the label on the box says 'S scale' does not make it so. Finding a 
truly accurate functioning S scale signal can be a challenge, but not 
impossible.
