Yup, we agree!

Nope, we disagree here. I never reported anything about any MTH product. Have
not seen one yet and it is my practice to not report about things I have not
personally seen.

I can accept that past experiences influence future expectations. I guess we
are all human. In this case, the NEW Flyonel locos are significantly better
than past creations.

Best to have an open inquisitive mind regarding the current offerings from
Lionel/AF. They are not the same as in the past.

The interesting thing about the negative commentary so far is that it all comes
from people who have not even seen the product. This time-warped analysis of
products never touched has happened before and so I should not be surprised.
Then again, nothing about S scale surprises me any more.

The commentary about one horizontal motor vs. two vertical motors is
interesting. I would pose the question: "If the operation is satisfactory or
equal, what difference does it make?" In the case of the Y-3 and SD70, the
total current draw is less than one amp with wheels spinning at full speed.
These are good quality motors and come with a small brass flywheel attached --
make the TWO brass flywheels per loco.

It won't be long before the S SIG has the Quick Look of the SD70 available in
THE S SCALE JOURNAL. Eventually, that will be followed by a thorough Dick
Karnes-written product review of the SSL&S converted-to-scale Lionel/AF Y-3
complete with still photos and video clips.
