Probably for the same reasons they no longer offer commemerative cars in S: Not
enough members are interested in S.
It's a simple reality, most folks that will join the NMRA are either involved
with HO or N.
I was in HO for about 10 years before I joined the NMRA in 1972 or thereabouts,
and that was primarily because the club I belonged to was shooting for 100%
status.
When I switched to S in 1985, it was a couple of years before I joined the NASG.
