Awareness of S scale is not very good to put it mildly.

You could be right, however my recollection is that the NMRA might have wanted
the NASG logo to be removed from the gage. My recollection is very weak at
best. Regardless, that is not a hard thing to do and, if done, the S scale
track gage could be sold via the NMRA.

Could be. I really do not know about that. I do believe, however, that the
NASG really does not want the S scale gage sold by anyone else. Perhaps I am
wrong about that belief and someone with direct knowledge will explain the real
reasons why the NASG and the NMRA cannot work out some mutually agreeable
arrangement by which both organizations can sell the S scale gage. Would seem
to benefit everyone, I would think.
