Perhaps you should read the words again. It said re-engineering the
electronics, not the mechanism. Do you consider electronics part of the
mechanism (I do not)?
When I talked to MTH back in Feb. in Springfield they explained why they were
putting their own electronics in and why it was a bigger effort then expected.
At the time it made sense to me and, in my opinion, was an indication of the
seriousness they took the S line.
