Yes, Alan. I also agree with you about Lionel, though I’m not interested in
the modern stuff. It’s all good for S.

We all wish for more layout space. And money. And time.....

Roger,

I agree with you. Now we also need to give Lionel a chance. The SD-70 already
has had 3 reviews and from what they have said, it is one heck of a locomotive.
I am going to sit back and wait on MTH. I may have to change out some LocoMatic
sound boards on what SHS loco's I have. 1 2-8-0 , 1 SW-9, 1 NW-2. I guess that
makes me want to see what MTH does. Just wish I had more layout space.

This all sounds pretty darn good to me. Thanks, Mel.

If MTH advertises the heck out of their S scale line, as I’m sure they will
given their record in that regard and the investment represented here, there
will be a new influx of S gaugers. More product from other suppliers will
follow. Hi rail or scale (or proto 64 etc.), it will make no difference when
it come to figures, detail parts, structures, vehicles and so on.

at this past weekends wgh show in sacto, i had a chance to talk with
mth's reps (one of whom was
the spitting image of mike wolf, but denied it), anyway the 2013
catalogs are being delayed another
month in their distribution, and the reason given was that mth
wanted to make sure that they had
sufficient product for the roll out of the catalog, next the time
span for this year's releases is as
follows, late spring will be for track work and switches only, late
summer/early fall will be for rolling stock,
they will not pre advertise what they are going to release, however
90% of the rolling stock will
be new paint schemes, and the remaining 10% will be repaints of old
schemes that shs originally did,
mth thinks that these will sell, due to pent up demand, lastly, late
winter/pre christmas, will see the
release of the f-3's, the f-7's, 2-8-0's and switchers will be
released in 2014, this is due to re-engineering
mth's electronics to fit these models, the earliest that any new
product might appear is 2015, and that is
based on how the early releases sell, mth's process for selecting new
models, is rather lengthly and
comprehensive, at a point in the process the public's input, as well
as dealer's input will be consider,
but bear in mind, this is an inhouse process, so please keep the
negative comments and disappointment
to your selves, as this site is read frequently, if not daily by mth,
lets give them a chance first, before we
resort to crucifiction
