Had a long phone chat with the folks at MTH on some of the issues raised here.
F unit paint schemes: questioned them on the UP and ATSF paint schemes. Said
they did do research on them and those schemes did exist

Thanks for the reply Jeff. Sadly in there ignorance or arrogance they are
wrong. I've been modeling the UP for 40+ years and I spoke with other UP
modelers with even more years invested than me and no one has seen a UP scheme
that resembles the catalog. I'm not saying a lone loco didn't sneak out of a
paint shop somewhere temporarily, but none were shipped from EMD or operated
(for long) with this scheme.
I just wanted to refute their statement and set the record straight for all UP
modelers. Please no further comments on this topic.
