Decal film over silver paint, ALCLAD or other, can be very visible and look 
terrible -- sort of yellowish.  One good way to prevent the problem is to apply 
two coats of clear coat over the silver paint.  Then apply the decal.  And then 
some more clear coat to protect the decal.  The idea is to prevent the decal 
from coming into direct contact with the silver paint.  Ask my silver tank cars
