Bob, Congratulations on the cover shot! I just picked up my RMC after being out of town. Your article certainly lives up to the rave reviews that you have received here! The attendees at the NMRA convention that are wise enough to visit you will be suitably impressed.
Your narrow gauge layout in California was stunning as well. You were an inspiration to me way back then. I also have a few of those projects sitting in the closet still. You must remember that I cheated a little bit on the layout. Except for the mill buildings, about 80% of the structures were modified from my NG layout and all of the trees were "transplanted" from NG. The Mianne benchwork system helped out a lot as well as using the flex-track and White Oak turnouts to move the project along. Now I get to spend my time building those passenger car sets that I really don't need but like to see run on the RR.
