Bob:
Use pieces of box packaging tape as sticky strips to pick up the small screws, 
nuts, etc.   Then you can sit at your work bench and tweeze and wheeze to your 
hearts content.   The method also works great when an "over-ripe" hole punch 
decides to explode.  <G>
