sage-newbie, sage-solaris, sage-flame, sage-marketing and sage-edu
together made up for 133 posts in six months. Moving all of it to sage-
devel would mean an increment of about 4%. If part of it was moved to
sage-support instead, the increment would be even less.

Put differently: We are talking here about an increment of less than 1
post per day (133/(6*30)). "Tons of details" is something else, I
think!

I believe even those getting all sage-devel posts sent by email should
easily be able to "plonk" one additional message per day after reading
the subject line. So, IMO, it isn't exactly "bothering" either.

And, as I expressed earlier, the attitude of feeling bothered by a
marginal amount of information on topics that could potentially be
interesting to a non-marginal proportion of group members seems
dangerous to me.

Specifically in the case of sage-marketing or sage-edu, I can imagine
that some people on sage-devel/sage-support could and would
occasionally contribute to that topic, IF THEY WERE AWARE of ongoing
discussion. Currently, one would only become aware if one had joined
two more lists (which means one has to know that such lists exist, in
the first place!).

Cheers,
Simon
