Probably true. Anyhow, people will work on whatever project they

What do you have in mind? I have some ideas for more advanced editing, but the technology and tools are catching up at this point (i.e., we could do it, but outside projects are approaching the right capabilities, so I'd rather use actively-maintained outside projects).

notebook - so vanilla sage is shipped with a simple version, but it is
possible to install a "whistle and bells" extension spkg.


Sure, though if it's easy enough, we'd just as soon ship the whistles and bells with the standard notebook. We already have a jsmath-image-fonts optional package that modifies the notebook behavior, for example.
