I strongly disagree.  If someone want to work on Sage, then we should
provide advice but by no means tell them what to do.  It's a plus for
the Sage community to get people involved, even if at first they work
on something of interest to them that others might consider a "waste
of resources."  I think it's a shame that the tone on the sage-devel
list is not as welcoming as it used to be, and I think we suffer a
loss of developers because of it.
