This discussion seemed to have stopped, so I create ticket #17449. >From the discussions it appeared that some persons cared about the feature of to_partition, and so the ticket creates a new function connected_components_sizes() which returns the (sorted) list of connected components sizes.
The Poset.to_graph function, on the other hand, is deprecated with a message explaining how to obtain the same result by other means. Please bring your remarks to the ticket is you believe that it is wrong, and tell us why !
