Thanks for your input.

Actually, I think the backend would be pretty much independent of the user
interface part that I would be working on. The only thing that has to be
coordinated is how to exchange planar knot diagrams, or some other data
structure to represent planar knot diagrams.

I think that Amit wants to implement much of his part using braid
representations (am I correct Amit?). All I'm asking from him is to work
together to come up with a shared data structure for representing planar
diagrams. After that both projects are pretty much independent.

I'm about to put together a timeline and should post it later today.
