I don't have time to look into this and hope that ylchapuy will. I don't
actually think it is the Pollard rho code at fault since by default
generic discrete log still uses bsgs, so it is more likely to be the
previous (and already merged) improvement to the discrete log which
ylchapuy added a week or two ago.
If I finish all the "real" work I must do before tomorrow I'll come back
to this but that is not very likely...
