I don't know whether we can assume bash, I would go for Posix `/bin/sh`
compatible.
For example

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$SAGE_ORIG_LD_LIBRARY_PATH";
}}}
is bash-specific and I'm not sure about
{{{
LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$SAGE_ORIG_LD_LIBRARY_PATH" ...
}}}
