Now the bad news: By inserting print statements into the _mul_ method, I
found that the crash occurs in the line

singular_polynomial_mul(&_p, left._poly,
(<NCPolynomial_plural>right)._poly,
(<NCPolynomialRing_plural>left._parent)._ring)
}}}
I was somehow hoping that it would happen in the `new_NCP` function.
