Ivan, is this easy to fix (the sed thing)? Maybe that extra character is
indeed the problem.
John, can you upload that bdist someplace convenient? I have someone next
to me at the Sage Days at ICERM who could probably test it right now and
then we might be able to do a positive review, modulo that extra character
or whatever.
