 One other thing I experimented with is a decorator `@pari_catch_function`,
 which wraps the function in `sage_pari_catch()...sage_pari_catch_end()`.
 It works nicely, but I'm not sure that it is useful for `gen.pyx`, since
 it will probably slow things down.  On the other hand, it might be useful
 later for new code that is less speed-critical.  I am thinking of creating
 a patch implementing this (in a new ticket) sometime in the future.
