 plotting parameters to be adjusted individually, e.g.,

 Inspect the current layout, hyperplane by hyperplane, and find the box by
 computing maxima and minima of coordinates.
 Then adjust each hyperplane  to fit in the box.

 Well, I'm not saying this must happen on this ticket, but please open a
 followup ticket to address this.
