As far as the verbosity issue, I don't think it can be fixed cleanly now,
so I propose that we leave it as is. My understanding is that when you
run a worksheet, there are two Sage processes going on -- one for the
worksheet itself, and one associated to the notebook server. The
introspection stuff is handled by the notebook server, while any variables
we might want to set are in the worksheet process; therefore we can't
toggle verbosity from within a worksheet.
