Comment:

 OK, I made a branch doing what you suggested.  The documentation is now
 hopefully clearer.  Filtering out points of finite order is now always
 done directly after calling Simon's GP program.  While I was at it, I
 removed the change to an integral model since this is not necessary
 (anymore?).
