 Ok, I installed John's spkg and it indeed fixed the viewing problem! I do
 not know how to install Volker's file

 Or do I need to unpack it by hand somewhere? But where? I tried to put it
 into /Applications/sage/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages but that did not
 seem to do the trick.
