 deal with the cases where the basis of the center is not part of the basis
 of the algebra?

 Both Clifford and special case the exterior algebra, and I'm going to (try
 to do) both regular center and the supercenter. It reduces down to a
 linear algebra problem, and I was just going to return the elements which
 are a basis for the center (since there's currently no good framework for
 subalgebras).
